17 Best Elementary Music YouTube Channels and Videos – The Ultimate List!

If you are looking for elementary music lessons on YouTube, then you are in luck. In this post, I am going to share with you a plethora of YouTube channels and individual YouTube videos that are perfect for your elementary music class. So bookmark this post and use it whenever you need some new inspiration.

YouTube videos about the Orchestra

George Meets the Orchestra

I love George Meets the Orchestra! This is such a perfect short little video that highlights the four instrument families of the orchestra and allow students to hear what they sound like. It is perfect for reviewing or previewing instruments of the orchestra.

YouTube videos for Teaching Musical Concepts

Elmo Celebrity Lullaby

I actually first discovered this while watching Sesame Street with my two year-old. Ricky Gervais sings Elmo a lullaby that has sudden burst of loud singing. It’s hilarious and also is a great way to highlight, forte and piano for your younger students.

William Tell Overture

In this video, illustrate how are use the William Tell Overture as well as yellow and blue pieces of paper to teach my students about forte and piano. Another quick and simple way to review basic dynamics.

Fast and Slow Song

I love everything by The Laurie Berkner Band and this piece is no exception. I love giving my students to different scarves and moving one during the fast parts and a different one during the slow parts. It’s a great way to start talking about tempo.

YouTube Instrument Play Alongs

Charlie Parker

You can use this video as a read along with the book by Chris Rasche. But I like to add a little bit more and use it to practice the note a on the recorder. You can read all about it here in my blog post.

Oh Susanna – Musication YouTube Channel

Musication is a YouTube channel that is pure gold but this one I liked in particular because it’s really good for focusing on Mi Re Do. My students love a good boomwhacker playalong and I love a good piece that I can use to focus on musical elements like rhythm or pitch.

Ready Go Music

Ready Go Music has some fabulous rhythm play alongs for every season. They are great for reinforcing the rhythms that you are teaching in class.

Entertainer Rhythm Reading

Here is another good rhythm play along. I love giving my students the chance to hear lots of different genres of music and ragtime is one that they don’t get to hear very often so this is a great piece.

PreK and Special Ed Videos on YouTube

Simple Songs

I love these songs. They are absolutely excellent for PreK. Tons of classic nursery songs and lots of originals as well.

Mooseclumps

The Mooseclumps channel has lots of simple skills (counting to 5, etc) set to fun pop tunes by Bruno Mars, Billy Joel and more. These are great for Special Ed classes. Especially older kids who maybe still need to work on simple skills but won’t engage with “baby” songs.

Jack Hartman

Jack Hartman has many great songs for the young ones. One of my personal favorites in One Small Voice. This one makes for a great showpiece that will have all the parents wiping away a tear. But most of Jack Hartman’s stuff is fun, silly and upbeat.

Laurie Berkner Band

I already mentioned the Laurie Berkner Band once (Fast and Slow Song). But I also adore “I Know A Chicken” and “We Are the Dinosaurs.” So I’m just going to shout out their whole YouTube channel.

Videos on Music Curricular Connections

The Golden Ratio and Fibonacci Sequence

Teach your students about the Phi moment of a piece. Watch the whole video for all the science context, or skip to the part about Phi moments in music at around 5:00 min in.

Bill Nye Science of Music

Need sub plans to fill your class period? Try Bill Nye Science of Music. This is a 23 min video. You can have students take time at the end to answer questions with a partner and share out. Or maybe even conduct a science experiment!

Movement Activities on YouTube

1812 Overture

Watch this parachute activity I created to the famous Finale from The 1812 Overture. It is always a crowd favorite!

Carnival of the Animals

I share some of my favorite movement activities to do with some of the movements from Saint-Saens’ Carnival of the Animals with my younger grades.

Mr. Delgaudio

I have not personally watched any of these video yet, but I know his reputation as an elementary music YouTube rockstar, so I knew I would be remiss not to include his channel. I guess I need to do a little exploring and try some of his videos out. They looked really fun when I was researching this blog post!
