Jamaican Some Music, Mon!

I am always looking for great songs from around the world to share with my students. Here is one that has been a big hit in my classroom. I’m sure many of you are familiar with the song Three Little Bird by Bob Marley …

Don’t worry about a thing

Cause every little thing is gonna be alright …

I found a version of this song in the World Playground CD. (This is an awesome CD if you do not already own it. Lots of music from different countries). It is already in the key of G, which is a great key for recorders! So …. I created a recorder melody to go along with it.

Tada! The first part goes along with the chorus. The first two measures are played as an echo to the singing part, if that helps you align it a little better with the song. The second part is played during the verse (“Woke up this morning …). I love that the recorder part is simple and yet it is cool enough for my fourth graders. We be jamming’ in music class with this song! Enjoy!
