Our winter musical is right around the corner, and that means I need helpers. Between bringing in donations and having parents signing up to help with check in and other needs the day of the concert, it can get to be a lot to keep track of. That is why I love SignUp Genius, an amazing website that you can use to post any volunteer (or donation) opportunities. Parents can click the link, view the need you have, and sign up for a slot. It even send them a reminder email 24 hours before their shift (just about the time when I’m getting super busy and would forget to do that sort of thing).
Start a SignUp
First you’ll have to create an account – don’t worry it’s fast and it’s free. Next you’ll click to button on top to Create a SignUp. You get to choose from a variety of themes. There are a bunch of options, but one bummer is that some of them are premium level (see the badge in the bottom corner of some of the options?), so you have to get a premium membership to use them.
Next you will select what time of event it is. I like that it is very flexible to fit a variety of different types of needs!
Next, type in what you need help with. You can create multiple slots if needed (like having multiple people for building the set).
Before your SignUp is finished, you will get to preview it. When you are done, you will get a link that you can use, or you can import email addresses and send through the site.
And bam! It’s there and ready for volunteers. I hope you can use this to make your performance as smooth as possible!
